Integrated Maize Genetic and Physical Map
This viewer, the integrated genetic and physical map tool (iMap, version 2.0), has been developed
by the Maize Mapping Project, Columbia, MO USA, based on
software (GIOT) kindly provided by the Rice Genome Project,
Tsukuba, Japan.
- The genetic maps currently shown are IBM2 (Intermated B73 / Mo17) as of
March 20, 2003, and IBM2 neighbors as of Jul 2004, with SNP/InDel, SSR and
RFLP markers. The new IBM2 neighbors maps include a refinement based on the
FPC data, and the community maps, cIBM2004, available at MaizeGDB. The FPC refinement is represented
indepently in the IBM2
FPC maps at MaizeGDB.
- The physical map contigs currently shown are based on the FPC analysis of
06/30/2004. Please note that contig assembly by fingerprinting and automated matching of BACs has been completed and is
now undergoing manual editing and joining aided by existing and new markers; marker-to-BAC ties are fixed, but BAC
membership in contigs and numbering of contigs will change periodically.
- Contig criteria: All contigs that link to a locus are shown from contig pop-up window. Click here to view our anchoring rules.
- Currently, there are a total of 483 contigs that have been anchored onto
IBM2 and IBM2 neighbors maps. See our downloads page for a summary of markers
that were used to anchor contigs.
If you are a first-time user, before browsing iMap, we suggest that you read the user guide. You can also open and read the user guide by clicking "user guide" in the left-hand corner of any of the chromosome pages in iMap.
